The project questioned the issue of the impact which culture, especially literature, film and TV, has on the shaping of the subconscious cliches of the intimate relationship of woman and man. The end of the past century was a moment of renewed concentration on the problem of the cultural matrix of love – the essential emotion experienced by humans. It was also the period of fundamental changes of custom and social and economic relations, which considerably influenced the character of interpersonal relationships. The career of psychoanalysis, feminist movements, the sexual revolution, fear of AIDS and other phenomena decisive for cultural formations of the 20th century created new challenges for the interpersonal relations and their forms. However, the cultural matrix – love, the need to be loved and various unrealistic expectations about the relationship almost never relate to this reality.
