A reference to Werkbund’s exhibition Die Wohnung (The Dwelling) organised in Stuttgart in 1927. Die Wohnung, which toured 17 European countries between 1928 and 1930, presented side by side, as if in an imaginary museum, examples of modern buildings from Europe and America, pointing out their similarities and demonstrating the fact that they were built at the same time though independently. The International Style... was a selection of those buildings and architects of modern times who contributed the most to the development of contemporary architecture.
