A series of photographs and video documentation making up the Defenders series was completed during a photographic session with the participation of a group of army officers, members of an elite airforce unit of the Ukrainian army. The officers taking part in the session posed for photos repeating gestures and postures which imitated the representations from advertising photography. Facing such obvious ambiguity of images, it was hard to tell the boundaries of the game or posing; or how much it was tempting to identify oneself with the adopted image.
